Life can sometimes force us to put our dreams on hold. Whether you’re a parent, caretaker, or simply navigating through life’s challenges, it’s easy to lose sight of your vision. But remember, it’s okay to want more. It’s okay to dream of something bigger, more peaceful, or more expansive.
Many of us find ourselves feeling stuck or unfulfilled, maybe even at rock bottom. These moments of change, whether internal growth or external shifts, can feel daunting. But I’m here to tell you that it’s perfectly okay to seek something different. Wanting more doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful for what you have; it means you’re ready to grow.
Women, in particular, face societal pressures that discourage us from seeking more. We’ve been sold the false narrative that desiring more means we’re not appreciative. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We can honor our past and be grateful for our present while still aspiring for more.
We’ve discussed before on the show how inner barriers, like those mentioned in Gay Hendricks’ “The Big Leap,” hold us back from expanding. These barriers often stem from fears of outshining others, biting off more than we can chew, or facing increased burdens with success. But it’s essential to push past these limitations.
Tony Robbins says, “A goal is a dream with a deadline.” To set goals that ignite passion and drive, we must have dreams that align with our purpose. These dreams, or what I call purpose habit goals, are the fuel that propels us forward. They are the “big yes” that resonates deeply with our hearts.
